In light of the extremely strong views of disapproval from our members, the Supporters’ Trust calls on the club to urgently reconsider its plans.
We can see how the Club arrived at this position but regret that no opportunity was given to fans to contribute to the design or to vote for a favourite. It is a missed opportunity and raises concerns about what constitutes ‘consultation’. One cannot claim to have the fans at the heart of the club’s identity when presenting them with something into which they have had only a tenuous input.
We ask the club to think again, and whilst welcoming putting fans at the core of it’s identity, rebranding should be done with much more thorough consultation, beginning ASAP. The club in recent times has been excellent at listening to its fans and now is a clear moment for them to do so again.
