The Leeds United Supporters’ Trust (The Trust) welcomes the 100% ownership of Andrea Radrizzani, and the swift and clean manner in which this deal has been agreed, following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season.

While this is a time to look forwards with optimism and not the time to dwell on the past, the Trust hopes this deal brings a new era of clarity, transparency, integrity and professionalism in the stewardship of our football club, and we acknowledge Massimo Cellino for enabling the 2016/17 season to proceed how it did, and also for knowing this was the right time to step aside and allow another party to take the club forward.

Concentrating on and enjoying football in the 2016/17 season has brought pleasure back to the Leeds United supporters, a vibrancy back to Elland Road and a swagger back to the football club. Long may that continue.

For now, the Trust would like to welcome Mr Radrizzani to his new position at the football club and after initial conversations earlier this year we are encouraged by the skills and experience he can bring.

That said, the past few years have been a huge challenge for every Leeds United fan, and while we will support the new ownership in every way possible, the Trust will maintain a neutral stance while it is demonstrated that Mr Radrizzani is a suitable guardian for our football club.

To this end, the Trust recently sent a letter to Mr Radrizzani outlining the concerns of our members over securing the future of Garry Monk as quickly as possible, so as not to waste the good work of the 2016/17 season and the opportunity that currently presents itself.

The Trust now hopes for stability and continuity leading up to the new season and hopes that any plans and investments are always carried out with the prosperous future of the football club and its fans in mind.
